Meditation for Normal People 😉
February 29 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pmR750
A three week introductory course on the practices of mindfulness and meditation
Mindfulness and meditation have become popular topics in the last few years and the practices have been introduced everywhere from corporations to schools, all across the world. But mindfulness is more than just stress reduction and a greater ability to focus, and misconceptions and assumptions are common.
Meditation for Normal People 😉 is a course that is designed to clarify some of the main theories of meditation, debunk common misconceptions and learn how to start your own meditation practice. The course has been running for 5 years and has had close to 100 people go through the training. As an acknowledgement of this small milestone, the format of the course has been extended to include all new material.
This course is designed as an introduction to the practical aspects of meditation and mindfulness in daily life.
Some of what we will cover includes:
- insights from the latest scientific findings
- clearing up common misconceptions
- instruction into basic meditation and mindfulness practices, and
- exploration into potential life changes through the application of awareness training.
All of this will take place in a practical, secular and down-to-earth context with a fair amount of humour and the intent to not take ourselves too seriously 😉
